POSITION: Kitchen Cook,Sous Chef, Assistant
 
REPORTS TO:   Kitchen Supervisor
 
Be part of a fun, dynamic kitchen staff who prepares and serves healthy, delicious meals to Birch Creek's students, faculty and staff. Musicians from all over the country converge on the Birch Creek property in Egg Harbor for 4, 2-week sessions of intense musical training and performances. In addition adult music programs finish out August with shorter scheduling commitments. Be part of the crew that nourishes and enhances the Birch Creek experience. This is a seasonal opportunity, June 9-August 28, full and part-time options.
 
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES: Duties will be specific to your title. 
1. Prepare, cook, serve, and clean-up meals.  
2. Assist as needed with preparation, serving and/or cleanup of meals.
3. Work with & assist Kitchen Assistants.
4. Clean kitchen and all dining areas daily.
5. Maintain a safe and clean work area.
6. Other related duties as assigned.
 
QUALIFICATIONS
1. Ability to cook/prepare large-scale cafeteria style meals to groups of 50-100 students, faculty and staff members.
2. Experience in food service operations.  
3. Experience with supervision of kitchen support staff.
4. Knowledge of/interest in current dietary and nutritional needs for student populations.
5. Dependable, responsible, hard-working, self-starter.

This is an hourly, seasonal position starting the week of June 9, ending in late August. Competitive hourly wage dependent upon experience and position.  If you are a team player, happy disposition, enjoys being around young people, this is for you!
