Optometric Technician/Communications 

Door County Eye Associates is a busy optometry practice with a father/daughter doctor team. We provide full-scope medical eye care and high-quality optical products and services. We are seeking an optometric technician and communications assistant with outstanding customer service and people skills, seeking long-term employment. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills, is able to multitask, self-motivated and a positive attitude. 

Primary Duties:

  • Split time about 50/50 between performing pre-testing for optometrists and front desk duties 
  • Optometric technician duties includes:
    • Pre-testing patients for exams
    • Performing ancillary testing for doctors (optos, OCT, visual fields)
    • Assisting front desk staff if there is time in between patients with checking charts, checking patients in and out, etc. 
  • Front Desk/Communications duties:
    • Send communications to other healthcare providers (close the referral loop) 
    • Work with website representative to update periodically throughout the year 
    • Manage RingCentral (phone system)
    • Manage SolutionReach (appointment and other patient reminders, patient intake forms)
    • Answering phones and assisting patients in-office with scheduling

Hours:

  • Monday 7:45am-6:15pm, Tuesday 7:45am-5:15pm, Wednesday 7:45am-5:15pm, Thursday 7:45am-5:15pm, Friday 7:45am-12:15pm
  • One hour lunch break every day
  • No weekend or late-night hours!

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma minimum
  • Strong customer service and communication skills 
  • Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and positive attitude are a must
  • Team player 
  • Comfortable using computer and able to learn how to use new programs
  • Must be dependable and punctual
  • Able to multitask in a fast-paced environment 
  • Preferred but not required: background in healthcare or office environment
