Seaquist Orchards Canning Kitchen is looking for the head for our batch production. Our canning kitchen is mostly automated, with a full filling line that operates filling 3-8,000 jars per day depending on the time of year and products. It's a fast paced, but fun working environment! This position would be full time, year around with the busier produciton time being Dec-June. (Possible housing available). We are hoping that this position will begin ASAP.
We often call this position our "head cook", but it's nothing like a restaurant cook. 10-20 batches are done per day and each batch requires proper ingredients, following a specific process and timing things well.
Core Responsibilities:
-Preparing all batches (with the help of an assistant) of products that we make, following processes and pumping product into our filling line
-Operation of agitated steam kettles and having a good grasp of the entire process
-Beginning and Ending of Day sanitation and clean up
Required qualification:
-Being able to stand all day, lift 50+lb through-out the day, and can bend, squat, lift, and dance
-Someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced working environment and can multi-task well
-Someone who is a quick learner, works well in a team, a go-getter, good attitude and great work ethic
Bonus qualifications:
-An innovater
-Has experience working in a restaurant kitchen or production kitchen
-Mechanical
-Can drive forklift
Schedule:
M-Th 5am-2/3pm and F 7am-10a/1pm (depending on the week) (Never weekends!)
