Hostess

Seeking year round or seasonal, part time host/hostess; flexible on the number of shifts/week available. Shift length varies from 2-5.5 hours for a single shift depending on how busy the restaurant is. 

• Greet guests immediately.
• Guide guests to their table in our dining room inside and at outside tables.
• Provide menus and water for each guest.
• Provide other items like coloring book, crayon, highchair, and/or booster.
• Manage a wait list when necessary & be capable of estimating wait times.
• Know which table combinations work best for large parties.
• Properly seat servers in a rotating manner so as not to slam the server with all his/her tables at once.
• Call out guest name on loud speaker when their table is ready.
• Record relevant notes in the log each shift.
• At times you may need to help bus or take a drink order, if possible.
• Be capable of working in a high-speed, fast-paced environment.
• Be knowledgeable of food and the different menus.
• Be knowledgeable of some minor history details and regular business hours. 

• Excel in customer service.

• Value personal hygiene & contribute to a clean work environment.
• Dress professionally. 
• Maintain professional and respectful working relationships. Some shifts require 2 hostesses cooperatively working together.
• Communicate with management timely, effectively, and respectfully.

• Give feedback on dining room protocols. We are seeking staff that helps us learn and grow from our collective experience. 
• Attend staff meetings.
• Complete other appropriate work assignments as requested by the front of house manager.
